Chrysler and Dodge parent recalling 318,000 vehicles over potentially faulty air bag parts

    • March 26, 2024
    • admin
Chrysler’s parent company Stellantis has announced a recall of about 318,000 vehicles due to the potential problems with their airbags. The company has stated that some different models may have airbag inflator housings that can rupture, possibly causing a risk of injury if the airbags are deployed. The affected vehicles include certain models of Chrysler, Dodge, and Ram vehicles. Here’s a summary of possible signs of a faulty airbag: 1. Airbag Light: The airbag light on the dashboard should turn off after starting the vehicle. If the light stays on, this could be a sign of an airbag system problem. 2. Failure to Deploy: This is the most serious problem and would be observed during a car accident. If the airbag fails to deploy during the necessary circumstances, there may be a problem with the airbag system. 3. Airbag Deployed without a Crash: If the airbag deploys without a crash, immediate servicing of the vehicle is recommended. Stellantis is communicating with affected owners and dealers for repair arrangements. The recall is set to start on December 17th, 2021. Owners can check if their vehicle is a part of the recall by visiting the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s website and entering their vehicle identification number (VIN).
