Russia unleashes biggest air attack on Ukraine since start of full-scale invasion

    • admin
Russia has unleashed its biggest air attack on Ukrainian forces since the start of a full-scale invasion in 2014. Russia’s Defence Ministry said it had deployed more than 30 bombers, fighter jets and helicopters during a 24-hour military exercise over the country’s breakaway east. The ministry also launched strategic cruise missiles at the Luhansk region, hitting an ammunition centre and a military barracks. The move is seen as a clear act of aggression, with Russia trying to find a way to gain ground in the ongoing five-year war. The Russian military has repeatedly used air power to support its troops on the ground, but this latest attack appears to be its largest. The attack came as Kiev and Moscow struggle to come to a peace deal over the conflict in eastern Ukraine. The Ukrainian government and Moscow have already agreed to a ceasefire and a series of other measures, but the two sides are still far from coming to a lasting agreement.
